Bringing your brand or website to fruition through harmonious, meaningful and fun designs.

about ME

With every design project, my goal is always the same - keep it simple, create with purpose, and try to make people smile.

I am multi-disciplined freelance graphic designer with 10+  years’ experience across a diverse range of business sectors. I love building relationships with my clients. I especially love listening to each of their unique stories and using what I hear to develop my designs.

I studied Art History and Visual Arts and am a dedicated life-long learner. I am a 200-Hour Certified Yoga Teacher, an Artist, a Craftsman, a Graphic Designer and an Amateur Photographer. I know how to practice crow pose, sew a quilt, knit a sweater, crochet a hat, work a bandsaw, weld some steel, lay a hardwood floor, solder silver, throw a pot, oil paint, and take a decent photo.

If I don't know how to do it, I usually figure out a way.

MY Services

Designing a logo requires expansive research, creative exploration and a keen eye for fine detail. It’s about distilling your brand down to the basics and telling your story.  I partner with my clients to execute thoughtful logo design that is recognizable and symbolizes, in it’s simplest form, of what the brand stands for.

"Brand" {the perceived emotional image as a whole} "Identity" {is the visual aspect that forms part of the overall brand}

What is your story?

Everything your company displays, says, does and produces has to reflect the core ideas, goals and values of its business. Each of these elements must be strategically developed to work as a whole. It should be consistent, direct and stimulating for your audience. Brand isn’t only about your company’sdesign aesthetic, it’s about making an impression on your audience, one that makes a lasting impact.

Along with all that other branding stuff going on behind the scenes, the next step is getting you and getting your story out there! I can help you dream up an enticing Instagram feed or build a compelling newsletter template. I'd even be happy to consult on your previous program, and make suggested improvements.
Whether your working in Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, MailChimp, Constant Contact, I can help you get the word out.

Have a new print campaign you need to launch and don’t know where to start? Looking to spiff up some catalogs or handouts? Need to refresh an old magazine ad? Easy peasy!

I use my background in Art History and the Visual Arts to explore and express myself in a variety of mediums. In past projects, I've blended these skills with my designs to engage audiences in unconventional ways and remind them that design is everywhere.

Having a designer develop your site helps to make sure your brand is on mark. I work in the basic WYSIWYG programs (Adobe, Square Space, WordPress and WIX) and can suggest more technical resources when you need advanced programming.

Erica is exceptional at what she does. She gave us 3 great options for our new logo and rebuilt our website with very little guidance from us - and it came out great! We admire her creativity, appreciate the quick turnaround and are grateful for her patience with us through this process!

What is your brand story?

With every project I do my favorite thing is getting to know you, the client. What is your story? What is your brand background? How do you want to be perceived in the current market? Below is a brief outline of my process as we work with one another in creating the perfect and unique brand, identity and logo. Part Business Building. Part Business Identity. I'll meet you half way.

Design holds no place in the discovery meeting. You hold the information that I need to create an appropriate and effective design. We'll start the process with a simple client survey. From there we outline your marketing plans, profile your clients and target audience, discuss your competitors and nail down your goal.

Using the information from our discovery, we will aggregate adjectives, identify themes, sort similarities to get a full picture of your brand.

We will investigate what your competitors are doing.

We collaborate by starting with the 3 C's: Click, Collect & Compile. Click a pic that inspires you (graffiti wall, local artist installation, cool exterior signage, your morning breakfast). Collect materials, postcards and business cards (yes the paper ones) and share them with me. Compile brands, images, logos, color palettes andpictures on Pinterest and invite me to view them. Half of developing a beautiful brand or design is research. Once we finish with this, it’s on to the fun part!

Using our research, I’ll present you with 3-4 base designs that I think encompass the essence of your brand. Your feedback is important - what you like about one thing, what you dislike about another. I will include mockups to give you a sense of how it would feel in person. This stage is a conversation. Great communication creates great design.

Once your logo is all shiny, sparkly and ready to be shown to the world I will release all files to you and provide you with a complete branding guide. These will be the tools that you will be able to build everything from going forward. Don't forget though if you want to design anything further that we have not discussed in the agreed T&C's (newsletter, business cards, signage, social media banners or profile get the picture) you'll still need a designer to create these for you. The good thing is, I just may know one.

Erica Bliss has been a vital part of our team and more than a pleasure to work with. Her keen eye for detail and excellent feel and understanding for our brand, which she has actually helped us create, always resonates with what we are looking to market to our students. In addition to the stellar products, it is uncanny how quickly she gets us materials we need to promote events for the studio and the products we receive are always above and beyond our expectations. Lastly, her professionalism and light sense of humor, makes her easy and enjoyable to work with. We are so lucky to have Erica working with us and helping us grow our studio!

I always know that I can rely on Erica no matter where I, or she might be based. She is always been quick to respond, efficient and her turnaround times are second to none! I know I can trust her to deliver on time and to budget and that’s why I don’t work with anyone else other than Erica.

We needed a new logo designed for a company that we were establishing. Erica was a delight to work with on the project, as she listened and understood what our requirements were. She presented a series of ideas and tactfully negotiated the right path for my business partner and I to follow. Having worked the design, she found the best solution for printing all the collateral. It was a real pleasure to work with her and we will certainly use her services again going forward.
